Dear Esteemed Members of the Southern College of Occupational Medicine (SOCOEM),

I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you as we embark on this transformative journey together in the field of Occupational Medicine. The inception of SOCOEM in August 2023 marks a pivotal moment for the Southern states, uniting Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky under a shared vision of excellence in occupational health.

First and foremost, allow me to introduce the dedicated individuals who will be leading SOCOEM into a future of innovation and success. Our esteemed Officers, Board of Directors, and Delegates bring a wealth of experience and passion to their roles, ensuring that our organization is well-equipped to address the evolving challenges in occupational medicine.

In September 2023, we convened our inaugural Board meeting, setting the stage for collaborative decision-making and strategic planning. The synergy among our leadership team is palpable, and I am confident that SOCOEM will emerge as a beacon of excellence in the field.

I am pleased to inform you about an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success of SOCOEM. We are currently accepting applications for the position of Alternate Delegate, who will represent SOCOEM in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) House of Delegates. This role is integral to ensuring our collective voice is heard on the national stage, and I encourage qualified members to express their interest.

Looking ahead, we have a series of events that will further enrich your experience with SOCOEM. Our Spring Board meeting, scheduled for [date], will provide a platform for strategic discussions and collaboration. Additionally, we are excited to offer virtual Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities, allowing you to stay updated on the latest advancements in occupational medicine from the comfort of your own space.

As we strive for excellence, we eagerly an- ticipate our Fall Board meeting, which will provide in- person networking opportunities and valuable face-to-face CME sessions. This gathering promises to be a highlight of our calendar, fostering connections and shared learning among our esteemed members.

I extend my deepest gratitude for your commitment to advancing occupational medicine in the Southern region. Together, we will shape the future of our profession and con- tribute to the well-being of workers across our states.

Thank you for being a vital part of SOCOEM. I look forward to meeting each of you virtually and in person as we work towards a brighter, healthier future.

Sincerely,

Yogesh Reddy MD, MPH, MHA, FACOEM
