Dr. Karen A. Heupel, a nationally respected leader in occupational and aerospace medicine, is the recipient of SOCOEM’s Inaugural President’s Award. This award recognizes exceptional contributions to advancing SOCOEM's mission: promoting worker health through prevention, clinical excellence, research, and education.

Dr. Heupel took a leading role in establishing SOCOEM’s bylaws, authoring and revising multiple drafts that laid the groundwork for the organization’s structure and governance. Her dedication and foresight have been instrumental in positioning SOCOEM for long-term success.
