The Southern College of
Occupational and Environmental Medicine
A Regional Powerhouse in Healthcare Advocacy and Expertise.
The Southern College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (SOCOEM) is recently founded dynamic chapter of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, representing the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. Our chapter serves over 400 practicing physicians, residents, and medical students across this region. comprised of nine different component states. And while our members live in a wide area, our office and organizational (510c3) status resides in Texas.
The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) is a national professional organization of physicians specializing in occupational and environmental medicine.
ACOEM provides leadership in education, research, and the promotion of the highest quality standards in the practice of occupational and environmental medicine.

Dear SOCOEM Members,
Welcome, and thank you for being part of this community.
This is an exciting year for SOCOEM. As a chapter spanning multiple states, we have a unique opportunity to build something special: a visible, connected community where every member feels heard, valued, and supported. In our specialty, the work we do matters deeply, and so does the community we build around it.
